Reinventing Interiors: Circular Furniture and Sustainable Collaboration
This circular furniture creation project aims to reinvent space design while fostering strong collaboration between key players committed to sustainable practices. Regglo and Timber, specialists in the repurposing of construction materials, are at the heart of this initiative, working alongside the project owner and architects to integrate as many reclaimed and reused elements as possible into the design of work and reception areas.
It all starts with a detailed inventory of existing furniture to identify items that can be reused (chairs, armchairs, tables…) and those that require design work. The goal is to recover materials and give them a second life while creating fixed and mobile furniture that meets the space’s needs and those of its users. Nest and Les Petits Riens, two key players in the project, collaborated on sketches combining recovery and innovation, using materials from the construction site, such as CLT panels reconditioned by Timber.
The reception desk is a perfect example of this approach. Designed with a wood structure, it incorporates pipes recovered directly from the site. These pipes, both functional and visually interesting, add a playful dimension while referencing the space’s unique identity. This approach perfectly embodies the circular spirit of the project, blending creativity, sustainability, and reuse.
